TOEIC Exam Preparation courses
What is the TOEIC test?
The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) uses multiple-choice questions to evaluate the aptitude of non-native speakers for communicating in English in a professional context or in international exchange situations.

What is a TOEIC exam preparation course?
Our TOEIC courses are language lessons tailored towards students who intend to attempt the TOEIC exam. Teachers will prepare you for the type of questions that will likely appear on the exam while helping you reach the language level you desired.
Level required?
Unlike the different Cambridge exams, the American exams are “thermometer” tests that instantly measure your level of English. There is no prerequisite level required to pass the TOEIC.
However, a period of preparation may be useful to obtain a good score for the TOEIC, according to your personal objectives.
What does the TOEIC involve?
The TOEIC lasts two hours and is made up of 200 multiple choice questions:
- 100 listening comprehension questions using audio equipment.
- 100 written comprehension questions.
The TOEIC questions are based on authentic examples taken from international professional situations (meetings, travel, interviews, telephone conversations, etc.). You will obtain a separate mark (the score varies between 5 and 495 points) for listening comprehension and written comprehension. Your final score will therefore be between 10 and 990 points.
Along with your results, you will receive a grid for interpreting the scores so that you can locate your level and identify the tasks that you need to work on in order to correct your faults and progress in English. (To print the interpretation grid, download Acrobat Reader free of charge).
Your TOEIC preparation course will assist you with this and help you improve upon the areas that you’re lacking.
How do you sit the TOEIC?
Nothing could be easier! The TOEIC can be taken anywhere and at any time.
You are therefore free to sit the TOEIC:
- internally, in your place of work, training or study
- in open sessions throughout Europe
- in authorised training centres
- in the offices of TOEIC representatives.
The corrections are made:
- in 10 working days and then sent out by courier.
- in 3 working days for the express service
During your TOEIC preparation course, we’ll guide you through your options and instruct you on where best to take your exam to suit your needs.
How do I study for TOEIC?
During your TOEIC preparation course, you’ll be given all of the necessary techniques that you can use to make yourself ready for the exam. However, there are some things that you can do beforehand to make sure you can reach your highest potential:
- Test your English level to gauge your starting point
- Make a study plan during your TOEIC course
- Identify your existing weak spots
- Practice. Practice. Practice! Make sure to take plenty of practice exams
Recognition
Created in 1979 at the request of the Japanese Minister for Foreign Industry and Trade (MITI), the TOEIC test was designed in the United States by the psychometric centre ETS (Educational Testing Service), recognised worldwide for the quality and reliability of its tests.
A standardised test that produces reliable results time after time, the TOEIC evaluates the language skills of students of all levels (beginner to advanced), in all professions and all socio-professional categories.
